God is our refuge and strength,an ever-present help in trouble.-Psalm 46:1 (NIV)

Psalm 46 New International Version (NIV)
Psalm 46[a]For the director of music. Of the Sons of Korah. According to alamoth.[b] A song.
1 God is our refuge and strength,
an ever-present help in trouble.
2 Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way
and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea,
3 though its waters roar and foam
and the mountains quake with their surging.[c]
an ever-present help in trouble.
2 Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way
and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea,
3 though its waters roar and foam
and the mountains quake with their surging.[c]
4 There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God,
the holy place where the Most High dwells.
5 God is within her, she will not fall;
God will help her at break of day.
6 Nations are in uproar, kingdoms fall;
he lifts his voice, the earth melts.
the holy place where the Most High dwells.
5 God is within her, she will not fall;
God will help her at break of day.
6 Nations are in uproar, kingdoms fall;
he lifts his voice, the earth melts.
7 The Lord Almighty is with us;
the God of Jacob is our fortress.
the God of Jacob is our fortress.
8 Come and see what the Lord has done,
the desolations he has brought on the earth.
9 He makes wars cease
to the ends of the earth.
He breaks the bow and shatters the spear;
he burns the shields[d] with fire.
10 He says, “Be still, and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth.”
the desolations he has brought on the earth.
9 He makes wars cease
to the ends of the earth.
He breaks the bow and shatters the spear;
he burns the shields[d] with fire.
10 He says, “Be still, and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth.”
the God of Jacob is our fortress.

------------Never Give Up
There are times in our life that we are facing a great challenge. So great that we tend to give up because no matter what we do, it seems like nothing goes to the way we want it to be. Thus, we get frustrated.
I remember a friend of mine who was declared a candidate of a severe disease called Dengue fever. The disease is so severe that it already claimed many lives. At first check-up, my friend's platelets were somewhere in 149. Then, the doctor prescribed him medicines to take. But unfortunately on his succeeding check-ups his platelets went down further. From 149 it went down to 123, until it reached 102. According to his doctor, if his platelets count goes less than 90, they will have to confine him in the hospital.
With that in mind, my friend begun to worry because he does not want to be confined. So what he did, he just prayed and committed everything to Jesus. He told me, for the entire day, he drunk a lot of liquid, and trusted Jesus that everything will be OK. And praise God!, the next day when my friend went back for his check-up, his platelets count went up from 102 to 121.
It is amazing how God works in our life, especially in times of trouble. We should also remember that God will never give us challenges that we cannot handle (1 Corinthians 10:13).
Thank you Jesus for all the blessings that you are giving us.
Thank you Jesus for the challenges that we are facing,
because through these challenges,
you are molding us to become better.
Help us Lord, to glorify you with our works
and fulfill your plans for us.
These we ask in Jesus name, Amen.
With Jesus, we can do anything. (Philippians 4:13)
